Welcome!

Welcome to the Wilderness Specialist Group of The World Conservation Union (IUCN), started as the Wilderness Task Force and converted into a permanent “Specialist Group” within WCPA’s Strategic Direction on Science and Management (April 2009). This site is designed for both public users and members of the IUCN. On this site you can research world-wide wilderness, keep up-to-date on news and current events and link to other useful wilderness related websites. In addition to all these functions, IUCN members can also register and then engage other users in existing discussions on wilderness and related topics, or create and host new discussion categories and related forum topics. The Wilderness Specialist Group web site is hosted and facilitated by The WILD Foundation.

Co-Chairs;
Vance G. Martin, President, The Wild Foundation
Khulani Mkhize, Chief Executive, Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife
