| We are pleased to post the New IUCN Guidelines for Protected Areas, recently finalized during the IUCN World Conservation Congress. Through the hard-work of The WILD Foundation through its role as Co-Chair of the the Wilderness Task Force of the World Commission on Protected Areas (IUCN)and colleagues, the definition of wilderness and its management guidelines (Category 1b, on p25) came through this rigorous revision process significantly enhanced.
